Bargi Dam
Narmada river is the largest river in the Madhya Pradesh flowing towards the west and falling in the Arabian sea.Bragi Dam is one of the first completed dam o the Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh.Bargi Dam and Avantibai Lodhi Sagar are the two major irrigation projects.The total length of Narmada river is 1312 km.
The Dam construction work started in 1974 and was completed in 1990.Currently only 90 MW is being generated in Hydropower Generation plant.The height of the Dam is 69 m and the length 5.4 km.A lake of about 75 km in length and 4.5 km width.
Canals derived from bargi dam are covering providing water to multipe districts and work is still going-on on canals.Cruise ride,water scooter,speed boating are the main attraction in bargi dam.Surrouding of area of bargi dam is also good for nature like birdwatching,mammals etc.

- By rail: Nearest railway station for reaching bargi dam is jabalpur railway station.It is just 40 kms from bargi dam.
- By road:It is about 40 kms from jabalpur city in south direction.Jabalpur Mandla road and Nagpur road NH-7 are the two ways for reaching bargi dam.
- By Air:Jabalpur airport is the nearest airport for reaching bargi dam.Airport has direct connectivity from Delhi,Mumbai,Indore.Jabalpur air taxi service is also available for reaching bargi dam.
Very nice post, it was great reading about Bargi Dam, Jabalpur. A small town on the verge of becoming a city, Jabalpur is most known to tourists for the unique marble rocks stretch by the river Narmada. Check out other places to visit in Jabalpur as well.
